Neurodivergent-Affirming Therapy

Therapy that adapts to how you think, not the other way round. Not an assessment service: a steady, affirming space for the life that comes after the label or without one.

What affirming means here

Your brain is not the problem to fix.

Much of what is sold as ADHD or autism support in London is assessment: a diagnosis, a report and a door closing behind you. Therapy is the part that comes next and it is the part most often missing.

Working in an affirming way means I start from the position that neurodivergence is a difference, not a deficit. We work on what is actually painful: the exhaustion of masking, the sting of rejection, the anxiety built up over years of being misread. We do not work on making you seem more neurotypical.

Sessions themselves flex around you: camera on or off online, fidgeting welcome and walk and talk therapy in Kew if side-by-side conversation without eye contact feels easier. Many neurodivergent clients tell me the walking format is the first therapy that ever felt comfortable.

Who this is for

Wherever you are in the journey.

  • Late-diagnosed adults re-reading their whole life through a new lens, often with grief and relief arriving together.

  • Recently diagnosed and wondering what to do with the report now that the assessment clinic has closed the file.

  • Self-identified and not pursuing a diagnosis; you do not need paperwork to deserve support.

  • AuDHD adults navigating the push and pull of two profiles at once.

  • Neurodivergent teenagers and their parents; see counselling for young people.

What we might work on

The things that rarely make it into the report.

ADHD burnout & overwhelm

The crash that follows years of running on adrenaline and deadlines and how to build a life that does not require it.

Masking & unmasking

Who are you when you stop performing? Gentle, paced work on letting the mask down safely.

Rejection sensitivity

When criticism lands like a physical blow. Understanding rejection sensitive dysphoria and softening its grip.

Anxiety & self-esteem

Untangling what is neurodivergence and what is the anxiety layered on top of it; this pairs closely with my anxiety therapy work.
