What we can work on
Whatever has brought you here.
People come for many reasons and often for several at once. The most common threads in my practice:
-
Anxiety therapy for worry, panic and the anxiety nobody sees
-
Depression counselling for persistent low mood
-
Trauma therapy, paced and trauma-informed
-
Self-esteem therapy for the inner critic
-
Neurodivergent-affirming therapy for ADHD, autism and AuDHD
If your difficulty is not on that list, it is still welcome. The list describes what I see most, not the limits of the work.
How it works
A rhythm you can rely on.
Free Call
Introductory call to talk about what is bringing you to therapy and whether working together feels right. No forms, no obligation.
First session
We meet for 50 minutes. I ask what has brought you now, we agree the practical terms in writing and I explain confidentiality and its limits plainly. Then you talk about whatever you want to.
Ongoing
A regular weekly slot: online, messaging, phone, in person or walking in Kew. We review together as we go, and you are never committed to more than one session at a time.
Ending well
Some people come for a few months, others for longer. When you are ready, we plan the ending so it feels like a completion rather than a stop.
Choose your setting
The same work, wherever suits you.
Face-to-face therapy gives dedicated time in the same room. Online, messaging and phone therapy offers the same depth from wherever you are in the UK or abraod and research finds it just as effective. Walk and talk therapy takes the session into the beautiful surroundings of Kew. Many clients mix formats: walking in summer, online through a busy winter.
Fees are £70 per session and £80 for walking sessions. Full details, including cancellation terms and low-cost slots, are on the fees and FAQs page.
Weekly, at a regular time, is the rhythm that lets therapy build. BACP notes that most therapy takes place in planned, regular sessions of around 50 minutes.1 Fortnightly can work later in the process.
It depends on what you bring and what you want from it. Private therapy is open-ended and reviewed together; you decide when it is time to finish.
Then you should say so and I will help you find someone who fits better. BACP is explicit that you do not have to continue with a therapist you cannot relate to.1 The free call exists partly to reduce that risk.
