Walk & Talk Therapy

Walk and talk psychotherapy offers an alternative way of engaging in therapeutic work within the natural, open environment of Kew Gardens. Sessions take place while walking at a gentle pace, allowing conversation to unfold in a more relaxed and grounded way, supported by the calming influence of nature.

Being outdoors can reduce the intensity that sometimes comes with sitting face-to-face in a clinical room. Many people find that movement helps ease emotional expression, making it easier to talk, reflect and process difficult thoughts and feelings. The natural surroundings can support regulation of the nervous system, offering a sense of space, perspective and steadiness during the therapeutic process.

This approach can be particularly helpful for those who find traditional settings overwhelming or restrictive or for those who feel more at ease when thinking and speaking while in motion. The rhythm of walking often supports a more natural flow of conversation where thoughts can emerge without pressure.

All sessions are held with full attention to confidentiality and professional boundaries, ensuring that the work remains private and contained. The setting within Kew Gardens offers both discretion and a sense of safety while still allowing access to the restorative qualities of nature.

The integration of somatic awareness and psychological exploration within this environment can support deeper emotional processing, helping to connect thoughts, feelings and bodily experience in a more embodied way. Many individuals experience this format as grounding, clarifying and supportive when working through stress, loss, relational difficulties or periods of change.

Walk and talk therapy also includes entry access to Kew Gardens, with no separate admission cost required on top of the session fee. The focus remains entirely on creating a steady, supportive therapeutic space where meaningful work can take place in a natural setting.
